As part of its commitment to global academic readiness and competitive excellence, The Newtown School hosts internationally and nationally recognised examinations on campus — giving students direct access to pathways for higher education and academic distinction, without leaving the familiarity of their own school.
The Newtown School is an officially authorized test centre of the College Board, USA — among a select group of institutions in Kolkata to hold this distinction. Students can register for and appear for the following examinations on the NTS campus.

The SAT is a globally recognised standardised assessment used by universities across the United States and other countries as part of undergraduate admissions. NTS students, as well as external candidates, may register for the SAT and take the examination on campus under the supervision of College Board-authorized staff.

The PSAT is designed to help students prepare for the SAT while providing valuable insights into their academic strengths and areas for improvement. As an authorized test centre, NTS administers the PSAT on campus, enabling students to gain early exposure to the SAT testing format and benchmark their college readiness.

The AP Program offers university-level courses and examinations that enable students to demonstrate academic readiness for higher education, often earning credit or advanced standing at universities abroad. NTS is authorized to administer AP Exams on campus each May in accordance with the College Board's official testing windows.
Registration for both examinations is managed directly through the College Board. For NTS test centre details and assistance, please contact the Examinations Office.
Every year NTS registers as an examination centre for select national-level Olympiads, enabling students to compete in rigorous academic talent assessments without travelling beyond their own school.
The IOQM is the first stage of India's Mathematical Olympiad programme, leading to the Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO), the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO), and ultimately the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). NTS has registered as a test centre this year, allowing eligible students from Classes VIII to XII to appear for this examination on campus.
